Fort Mitchell was named, you guessed it, for a fort built for the defense of Cincinnati, about seven miles away, and Northern Kentucky, during the Civil War. It was named after General Ormsby Mitchell, who designed the fort. |

While in Fort Mitchell my already shaky marriage with John escalated to the point where it seemed that staying together was an alternative laden with a high level of amguish. So it was with both relief and some trepidation that I packed up as many belongings as possible and headed for Erie Pennsylvania with my kids. |
