The photo above is a scene of a part of Fletcher Park. During the Fall of '24 a hurricane roared through the area flooding Cane Creek and, after receding, left behind a sea of mud.
Fletcher is a broad expanse of relatively more level land nestled in the midst of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It's abount 15 minutes south of Asheville and fifteen minutes north of Hendersonville. Compared to southern Pennsylvania it's climate is astonishingly cooler aand less humid. And winters are, as one would expect, warmer and less snowy. Consequently, Northerners are flocking to this area forrcing real estate values ever higher... much to the dismay of natives of the region.
